Tips / Informational

You cant trust everything a web company that sells glasses online says.

So I look at many things online when it comes to eyewear and prescription lenses. It really upsets me when companies make false claims as if they are actually opticians. 4 guys went to business school together and started a successful company online selling glasses made in china. One of the claims they make is that polycarbonate lenses are the most impact resistant lenses on the market. See the claim in the screen shot below.

Prescription Lens & Frame Warranty from The Eye Bar

We have a great warranty that is included with your prescription lenses purchased at The Eye Bar.

1. 2 year scratch protection warranty. If anytime within 2 years your lenses are scratched or are defective with general use, we will replace them at no charge.

2. Our "oh no" or "my dog chewed on the glasses" warranty. Within those 2 years if your frames or lenses are damaged due to accidental breakage or abuse we will replace the lenses or any part of the frame at 40% off the regular price. We have to replace the same frame or lenses to be covered. All frames are covered under a manufactures warranty against defects for a minimum of 1 year.

How to clean your glasses? Please pay attention!

So I have been noticing several customers lately who seem to always scratch the prescription lenses they have. The lenses we use are the best available and always use either Crizal Alize, Crizal Avance or the equivalent from Zeiss, Kodak, or Hoya for Anti-reflective coatings. The digital progressives and single vision lenses all need to be cleaned in the same manner and have scratch resistant coatings (note - not scratch proof). Please use your cleaning kits and cleaning cloths. A little hand soap and water once in awhile wont hurt either!
