Shamir Progressive Lenses enhances vision for smartphones and tablets

Shamir has released a new Progressive Lens designed to enhance vision for smartphones and tablets. Todays modern use of digital devices and screens has become increasingly frequent part of daily life. This presents our eyes with special challenges as they switch back and forth between distant and mid-range viewing and reading small print on smartphones, tablets and other handheld devices.

To provide people with the clarity they need for everyday tasks Shamir created InTouch Progressive Lenses.

Alain Mikli bought by Luxottica!

Design powerhouse Alain Mikli has sold out to giant world dominating Luxottica for likely in the neighborhood of 90 million Euros! Alain Mikli has long been a successful independent eyewear designer and manufacturer in France. We have admired his frames for years, however, they were never for us at The Eye Bar. The designs seemed to be dated the last few years.  Nothing really innovative or fresh. Maybe that will change. Of course its more likely that you might start seeing Alain Mikli everywhere. Its crazy to think one company, Luxottica, owns so many brands of eyewear. If you buy your frames from Pearle Vision, Lenscrafters, Target Optical, Sears Optical, Sunglasses Hut, iLori or Optical Shop of Aspen, they are all owned by Luxoittica! Did you know that Luxottica also owns a major eye insurance company? Yep, they own EyeMed too!

We have discovered a great product to help people with dry, itchy eyes. A few of our great customers have tried it with fantastic results. They can not say enough good things about this product. Peter Parker is wearing Oliver Peoples Larrabee in new Spider-man Movie

We went to see the new Amazing Spiderman last week. It was a really enjoyable movie. The action was great, the acting was well done, and had a really fun direction for the franchise to go. Of course we couldn't help but notice the great glasses the characters were wearing. We were nearly positive and just got it confirmed that 2 frames from Oliver Peoples were in the film. Peter Parker was wearing an Oliver Peoples Larrabee and the other frame was the Oliver Poeples Emerson. We just love Oliver Peoples and glad to be part of the family. The Eye Bar always has a great collection of Oliver Peoples glasses in the store. Go see Spider-man if you haven't yet. Its worth the price of admission! Sarah Palin has received a ton of press since she has come on the scene.  She can be a polarizing political figure for many. One thing most everyone can agree on, however, is the eyewear she has looks great on her! Her first glasses that she came to be known for are the Kawasaki 704 rimless in a customized sharp rectangle. We have sold Kawasaki rimless eyewear for years. They are made extremely well and are durable. They have a unique design for rimless eyewear that allows the hardware to be attached putting very little pressure on the lenses themselves. This helps not get the cracking that happens with typical rimless frames.  We have been very pleased that a small independent designer for eyewear has had so much more attention!
